The WV Senior Sports Classic announced details for the 27th Annual WV Senior Sports Classic scheduled for July 8, 9, 10, 17, 24 and 25, 2021 in and around the Kanawha Valley at a Press Conference last week.
The West Virginia Senior Sports Classic is a member of the National Senior Games Association. The NSGA spearheads the senior games movement, sanctioning, and coordinating efforts in 50 states. A community-based member of the United States Olympic Committee, the NSGA serves as one of the USOC’s official arms to the senior population. The NSGA is a not-for-profit organization that is dedicated to promoting healthy lifestyles for seniors through education, fitness and sports.
The West Virginia Senior Sports Classic follows the commitments of the NSGA by giving seniors the opportunity to achieve greater value and quality in their lives by staying healthy, active, and fit. The Games are a great socialization event that offer opportunities to meet new people and provide fun, friendly competition.
WV Senior Games offers 13 individual and team sports for athletes 50+ including: Golf, Swimming, Pickleball, Table Tennis, Tennis, Racquetball, Track & Field, Basketball, Volleyball, Bowling, 5K, 10K Bike Race and Softball. This is a qualifying year. The top 3 participants in each sport qualifies for the National Senior Games in May 2022 in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
The WV Senior Sports Classic expects to draw over 300 participants.
