Charleston, WV… University of Charleston School of Pharmacy (UCSOP) assistant professor Dr. Lindsay Acree will serve as a panelist in the Opioid Town Hall meeting, “Moving Beyond Fear: Saving Lives & Protecting Neighbors During an Opioid Epidemic”. The meeting is hosted by Rise Up West Virginia and will take place on Thursday, July 26, 2018 from 6:00pm-8:30pm at St. John’s Episcopal Church.
The event will provide a platform for a panel discussion comprised of public health experts to learn more about successful approaches that deal with the effects of opioids in our communities.
“The opioid crisis throughout the country and here in West Virginia is not going to improve unless we all work together,” explained Dr. Lindsay Acree. “Opioid addiction affects nearly everyone. Fighting this epidemic through many avenues including prevention, education, safety, preventing the spread of infectious disease, and recovery are essential to making a dent in this problem. I am thrilled to be a part of this panel to provide insight regarding Harm Reduction and what it truly means to the community as a whole.”
