A new TV Show, Our Children Our Future, brought to you through a collaboration with KC Schools, Suddenlink Communications, The Underprivileged Children Foundation and Jim Strawn & Company, is a monthly 30-minute television program that focuses on issues effecting children. What kids are facing in today society, services offered, and the fundamental rights they deserve.

Jim Strawn is the host of the show.

The show airing August 19, 2019 – August 26, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. features The Underprivileged Children Foundation  (UCF) & WV Kids Count.

We interviewed Tommy Bailey, Executive  Director, UCF. He discussed the mission and purpose of UCF.  UCF seeks to advance and enhance the lives of West Virginia children and families in need. Their foundation is mostly funded by the generosity of those who share the vision of helping children and families and they are very thankful to have the opportunity to bless those who are less fortunate.

Tommy discussed their recent launch of a campaign titled UPLIFTED!.

The campaign is raising funds to support for those West Virginia children & families who need our help the most. Many West Virginia families struggle to make ends-meet and are often unable to provide basic needs, like school clothing, nutritious food, or winter coats. For many of these children, holidays are celebrated without Easter Baskets or holiday presents. In an area grappling with the ravages of addiction and a depressed economy, many families find helplessness and hopelessness as the only constants. UPLIFTED! will help those in need; simply put.

Tommy encouraged businesses, individuals, and other organizations to help if possible. The GOAL is $75,000 by December 31, 2019.

There are 3 levels to participate in this campaign.

Be a HERO with a gift of $3,500. Everyone deserves an opportunity to emerge from negative circumstances. Be a HERO today for many West Virginia children & families in need. UCF will recognize our HEROES through a variety of media outlets, events, and in UCF’s social media presence.
Be an ANGEL with a gift of $1,500. Coining a popular country music song, “Angels Among Us,” UCF invites those who wish to be an Angel for a West Virginia family or child in need. All of our Angels will receive mentions in our social media feeds and recognized at events throughout the year.
Be a FRIEND with a gift of $500. Friends are the most precious resource on the planet. Become a Friend for a family in need. All of our Friends will be invited to recognition events throughout the year.

We also interviewed Tommy Vance, Founder & President of UCF and Praveen Srinivasan, Director of Operations for Papa Johns.

Tommy talked about why this foundation is so important to him. As an adopted child who was raised in an economically challenged home, he understands the needs for basic and fundamental opportunites for children.

Praveen and Papa Johns recently partnered with UCF. Simply go to PapaJohns.com, sign up for an account (you may already have one) and search specials. There are 2 ways to help UCF. 1) There is a UCF $20 special and 2) Use promo code UCF10 for any other order and 10% of the proceeds will go to UCF.
