Season 15 Week number 12 brings The Settlement and Beggars Clan to the Schoenbaum Stage at Haddad Riverfront Park.
Friday, August 10, 2018 will be KVC-WV Night at the Levee.
KVC West Virginia is a private, nonprofit child welfare organization that provides a diverse array of services including foster care, adoption, in-home family preservation services, and outpatient psychiatric and behavioral healthcare. In partnership with the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources Bureau for Children and Families, we utilize the Safe at Home West Virginia program to maximize the benefits of home and community-based services for children in out-of-home care. They are committed to enriching and enhancing the lives of West Virginia children and families.
The organization has deep roots in West Virginia, going back to 1970. KVC acquired Action Youth Care in 2001, building on AYC’s legacy of providing foster care and other children’s services.
They will be on site handing out information and answering questions about their foster care services.
At 6:30 The Settlement will take to the stage for one 60-minute set.
The Settlement is a funk-fusion jam band from Huntington, WV. The eclectic, electric ensemble was founded in 2014 and typically performs as a sextet. The Settlement cleverly combines rowdy rock riffs, complex jazz harmonies, funky bass lines, creamy pop vocals, jammin’ reggae grooves and a multitude of diverse world music influences. Each member has their own unique musical upbringing and everyone contributes to the bands’ vast array of sounds. Each set is different from the last, offering a truly original live performance that thrives on passion, improvisation, communication and creativity.
Then at 7:45, Beggars Clan takes center-stage and will perform 2 45-minute set.
They are known for bringing a lot of funk, reggae and fun to the stage. With 10 members, they are capable of doing just that.
