Highlights: From the Heart of Our Community, is a 30 minute weekly TV show featuring organizations, events, grass-roots efforts and people who move our state and community forward in a positive way.
The show is a collaboration with Kanawha County Schools, Suddenlink Communications and Jim Strawn & Company.
The show airs daily at 8:30 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. on Suddenlink’s channel 17.

We interviewed Peggy Sampson, Director of the Home Builders Association of Greater Charleston and Tim Cunningham, Manager of the WV Home Show.
Peggy talked about their mission and their membership.
Founded in 1959, the Home Builders Association of Greater Charleston (HBAGC) represents builders, developers, and providers of products and services. The association promotes the home building industry through:
- Fostering business opportunities among members.
- Advocating members’ interests in the legislative and regulatory process.
- Providing member and consumer education.
- Promoting ethical and quality business practices.
Tim discussed the 50th Anniversary of the WV Home Show.
It is an opportunity for exhibitors to showcase your products and services at the largest running trade show in West Virginia; and the third largest Show in the Eastern United States. Give your company a new beginning for 2019; exhibit at the West Virginia Home Show March 29, 30, 31, 2019.
The WVHS gives the general public an opportunity to see many of the innovative and practical solutions that are available today as well as to see many products in one location rather than spending hours driving from place to place.

The 2019 West Virginia Home Show will open at the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center (formally the Charleston Civic Center) on Friday, March 29th from 4:;00 – 6:00 p.m.; Saturday, March 30th from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Sunday, March 31st from noon – 5:00 p.m. Admission price is $8.0 for adults; $7.00 for seniors over 65 years old; Children 2 years or older $1.00.
Peggy & Tim added that they are giving away a $12,750 kitchen make-over at 4:00 on Sunday. All 18 and over attendees qualify.
We also interviewed Rosemarie Hunter, Aesthetician & Make-up Artist.
She discussed the importance of sunscreen on sunny days and how you can have a healthy color without laying in tanning beds or laying in the sun.
