We also interviewed Andy Richardson, Charleston, WV City Council member and advocate for Seafood Nutrition Partnership.
Andy spoke passionately about his 3-year affiliation with the National Seafood Nutrition Partnership. Charleston, WV is one of 8 United States markets participating in this program. The Seafood Nutrition Partnership conducts grassroots public health educational programs in these markets. They were chosen in order educate citizens about the health benefits of seafood and how to include it more frequently into daily meals.
The hope is to get Charlestonians and West Virginians to take the Healthy Heart Pledge and commit to eating seafood at least 2 times per week.
Andy also talked about the exciting Charleston SeafoodFest scheduled for September 30, 2017 from 11:00 – 3:00 at the Charleston Capitol Market.
This is a FREE family event with seafood samples, Omega 3 testing, fish oil giveaway, children’s activities and the opportunity to win a $100 gift certificate to the Tidewater Grille. They will also be registering folks for the Healthy Heart Pledge.
