Highlights: From the Heart of Our Community, is a 30 minute weekly TV show featuring organizations, events, grass-roots efforts and people who move our state and community forward in a positive way.
The show is a collaboration with Kanawha County Schools, Suddenlink Communications and Jim Strawn & Company.
The show airs daily at 8:30 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. on Suddenlink’s channel 17.
The show airing June 19, 2017 – June 26, 2017 ‘highlights’ the Fix’Em Clinic.
We interviewed Lisa Mitchell, President, Fix’Em Clinic. She discussed their 3-year journey that is now in its final stages.
Lisa talked about their mission and vision, which is to provide high-quality, high-volume, affordable spay/neuter services as a humane, sustainable solution to the overpopulation of cats and dogs in the region. In alliance with their mission, they are dedicated to promoting spay/neuter and educating the community on its benefits. Their vision is to end the euthanasia of adoptable cats and dogs and to minimize the number of abandoned cats and dogs in our communities.
The Fix’Em Clinic plans to provide spay/neuter and wellness services to a 20-county area in and around Kanawha County.
The Fix’Em Clinic is a program of the new Charleston Regional Spay/Neuter Center; it is located at 102 Dee Drive in the Players Club area of Charleston, WV.
The clinic is one of only 2 facilities in the state of WV that is aligned with the Humane Alliance from Asheville, NC. The Humane Alliance is the nationally recognized as the Gold Standard expert in High Quality, High Volume, Low Cost Spay/Neuter.
To date the Fix’Em Clinic has raised over $160,000 during their fundraiser campaign. They just need $150,000 to complete the campaign and be operational by the end of summer 2017.
