Highlights is a 30 minute weekly TV show featuring organizations, events, grass-roots efforts and people who move our state and community forward in a positive way.
The show is a collaboration with Kanawha County Schools, Suddenlink Communications, and Jim Strawn & Company.
The show airs daily at 8:30 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. on Suddenlink’s channel 17.
The show airing February 15, 2021 – February 22, 2021 features the Girl Scouts of Black Diamond Council.
We interviewed Beth Casey, Chief Executive Officer of the Black Diamond Council. She discussed the Council. Girl Scouts of Black Diamond believes in the power of every girl. Their leadership program is designed to help girls discover who she is, what she can do and connects her with a powerful community of girls and mentors to make it happen. With unique opportunities Girl Scouts explore, learn, succeed and take action to make a difference in their community.
With support from dedicated adult volunteers, parents and staff, we deliver the best Girl Scout experience to 11,300 members: 8,500 girls and 2,800 adults in 61 counties within West Virginia, Ohio, Maryland and Virginia. Our headquarters, shop and urban camp – the Girl Zone – are located in Charleston, WV. While our headquarters is based in Charleston, most of our staff work from home offices in the hearts of our communities.
Beth reminded us that it is Cookie Season. Cookies can still be ordered by visiting here. And simply click on Find Cookies.
We also discussed G.I.R.L. Power.
