Highlights is a 30 minute weekly TV show featuring organizations, events, grass-roots efforts and people who move our state and community forward in a positive way.

The show is a collaboration with Kanawha County Schools, Suddenlink Communications, and Jim Strawn & Company.

The show airs daily at 8:30 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. on Suddenlink’s channel 17.

The show airing October 18, 2021 25, 2021 features the Regional Contracting Assistance Center.

We interviewed Sommer Straight, Program Director, RCAC WV.

The Regional Contracting Assistance Center (RCAC) provides advice and assistance in areas specific to your company’s government contracting needs and helps to answer questions regarding regulations, reporting requirements, contract bidding and performance, and payment and audit issues. The Procurement Counselors provide advice and assistance in areas specific to your company’s government contracting needs. They assist with topics such as regulations, reporting requirements, contract bidding performance, payment, and audit issues.

They are on a non-profit corporation funded by the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), the State of West Virginia, and private corporations. RCAC currently services the entire state.

Sommer has been with the non-profit organization for 15 years. They have 6 staff members to handle the entire state of West Virginia.

They also offer varied workshops throughout the year.
