Highlights is a 30 minute weekly TV show featuring organizations, events, grass-roots efforts and people who move our state and community forward in a positive way.
The show is a collaboration with Kanawha County Schools, Suddenlink Communications, and Jim Strawn & Company.
The show airs daily at 8:30 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. on Suddenlink’s channel 17.
The show airing June 14, 2021 – June 21, 2021 features the WV North-South HS Football Classic and Roark-Sullivan Lifeway Center.
We interviewed Coach Bob Mullett, Director, WV North South High School Football Classic.
Now in its 77th year, the N-S Football Classic has grown to be one of the biggest high school events of the year in West Virginia.
Set for Saturday, June 19, 2021 beginning with kickoff at noon at South Charleston HS, the game pits all-stars from all 55 counties in West Virginia. The North Bears vs the South Cardinals.
Players stay and practice at WV State University in Institute, WV.
Coach Mullett talked about the experience and camaraderie the players gain from the Classic week.

We also talked with Jessica McGuire, President & CEO of Roark-Sullivan Lifeway Center and Angie Paranzino, Chair of Fundraising Committee.
Jessica, who was named President & CEO in March 2021, discussed her path to becoming the new CEO.
She discussed the programs at Roark-Sullivan and her plans for the future.
Angie announced an upcoming fundraising event titled, ‘Brews & Bites to Support our Veterans’.
The event is set for June 26, 2021 beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the Charleston Women’s Club on Virginia Street E in Charleston, WV.

There will also be plenty of items on hand as they hope to raise $30,000 to support the Roark-Sullivan veterans program.
