The show airing July 6, 2020 – July 20, 2020 highlights the Kanawha Charleston Health Department.

We interviewed Dr. Sherri Young, Executive Director and Health Officer for the KCHD.

We congratulated Dr. Young for being in the position for 1 year. And what a last 6 months it has been!

We discussed the COVID-19 Virus.

Dr. Young describe what the virus is, how it is transmitted, the symptoms, how you get tested and what you should do if you test positive.

We also discussed collaboration the KC Health Department has fostered. Partnerships with KC Emergency Ambulance Authority, Kanawha County Commission, City of Charleston, KC Schools, area hospitals and others have assisted them in keeping our Kanawha County residents safe and informed.

To date, (July 2, 2020) Kanawha County has seen 334 total cases & 20 deaths.

Dr. Young also talked about the importance of regular routine health check-ups for example: mammograms, colonoscopies, oral tests, and vaccinations.
