Highlights: From the Heart of Our Community, is a 30 minute weekly TV show featuring organizations, events, grass-roots efforts and people who move our state and community forward in a positive way.
The show is a collaboration with Kanawha County Schools, Suddenlink Communications and Jim Strawn & Company.
The show airs daily at 8:30 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. on Suddenlink’s channel 17.
The show airing August 21, 2017 – September 4, 2017 ‘highlights’ the Capital City Challenge to benefit The Counseling Connection.
We interviewed Frank Fazzolari, Executive Director, The Counseling Connection and Steve Hewitt, Chair of Capital City Challenge, commonly referrerd to as the Run Row Ride.

Frank talk about the wonderful programs and service his organization provides and how vital the funds raised from the event are to his operation. The Counseling Connection, located at 1021 Quarrier Street in Charleston, WV offers counseling and hope to nurture the mental health and psychological well being of individuals and families by providing the highest quality counseling, therapy, education and advocacy available throughout West Virginia.
The Counseling Connection is a 501(c)(3) certified non-profit organization based out of Charleston, West Virginia. There primary function as an organization is to continually provide the highest level of care to each and every client they serve by employing the very best, most qualified professionals. They are very proud to offer their clients a complement of exceptional therapists/staff that are highly skilled and trained in the treatment of a variety of theoretical techniques.

Steve discussed the Capital City Challenge, now in its 8th year, as a unique fitness challenge tailored to varies individual fitness levels. It is a 25.2 mile triathlon. Registration of teams or individuals are accepted. The event happens in and around the great banks of the Kanawha River.
The event is scheduled for September 16, 2017 beginning at 9:00 a.m.
Participants will engage in 3 legs: running a 4.2 mile flat course, followed by a 4.2 mile row in a kayak/canoe, and conclude with a 16.8 mile bike ride.
New this year is the category of Stand Up Paddleboarding.
