Highlights: From the Heart of Our Community, is a 30 minute weekly TV show featuring organizations, events, grass-roots efforts and people who move our state and community forward in a positive way.
The show is a collaboration with Kanawha County Schools, Suddenlink Communications and Jim Strawn & Company.
The show airs daily at 8:30 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. on Suddenlink’s channel 17.

We interviewed Sharon Rotenberry, Executive Director Alzheimier’s Association of WV.
The Alzheimer’s Association is the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer’s care, support and research. Their mission is to eliminate Alzheimer’s disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.
We discussed some of the highlights of Sharon’s first year as Director.
We also talked about the Walk to End Alz. Many walks happening around the state of WV.
The Charleston, WV Walk is scheduled for October 27th at Appalachian Power Park beginning at 8:00 a.m. with registration and 9:30 with the walk.

Ronald McDonald House of Southern West Virginia is able to provide all basic needs in order to allow families to remain close to a hospitalized child. Every night families are able to rest a little easier knowing that they are just a short walk away from their loved ones.
Dewayne and Stacy discussed their upcoming fundraising walk/run ‘For Our Families’ set for October 20th at the Shawnee Sports Complex.
