Highlights: From the Heart of Our Community, is a 30 minute weekly TV show featuring organizations, events, grass-roots efforts and people who move our state and community forward in a positive way.
The show is a collaboration with Kanawha County Schools, Suddenlink Communications and Jim Strawn & Company.
The show airs daily at 8:30 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. on Suddenlink’s channel 17.
The show airing October 29, 2018 – November 5, 2018 ‘highlights’ the 2nd Annual Salute to Veterans Fundraising Event.
We interviewed Dotsy Klei, General Manager of LM Communications, which is made up of various radio stations including Rock 105, The Mix 100.9 in Charleston & 102.3 in Huntington, The Jock, and The Light.
LM Communications is the sponsor of Salute to Veterans, a night of celebration for those who have served our great country and their families.
Dotsy discussed their commitment to our community with promotion and sponsorship of many charitable organization throught the Charleston-Huntington market.
The 2nd Annual Salute to Veterans is scheduled for Saturday, November 3, 2018 beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the Charleston Moose Lodge at 2805 Kanawha Blvd E, Charleston, WV 25311.
Every dollar raised will be donated to LOCAL veterans; the Roark-Sullivan Lifeway Center and the WV Veterans Home.
Hopeful to raise over $20,000.00.

We also interviewed Chili Walker, Program Manager of Rock 105 and Christy Lynn, Midday On-Air personality with The Mix 100.9.
They discussed the success from last year and their hope that this year is even bigger.
Chili talked about the auction items: about 35 silent auctions and 5 LIVE items including at trip to Hawaii to visit Pearl Harbor Museum.
Again, all proceeds help our local veterans.
Nicely designed tee-shirts are available for $10 at the event as well.

We also talked with Eric Voiers, Director of Veteran Services at Roark-Sullivan Lifeway Center. He discussed how they plan to use the proceeds to support local veterans in need. Sometimes housing, or transportation and job-readiness training for re-entry into the workforce.
The event promises inspiration, hope, good food, spirited drinks, auction items, fellowship and the opportunity to help our local vets.
