  From the Underprivileged Children Foundation

Charleston, WV…The Underprivileged Children Foundation is announcing the official launch of their latest project, the Food S.H.A.C.K.  A ceremony is being held on Monday, July 20, 2020 at 12:00 at the Switzer Center located at 900 Griffin Drive in Charleston, WV.

The goal of the Food SHACK is simple: feed as many children in need throughout Kanawha County as possible daily.  S.H.A.C.K. stands for Stop Hunger Among Community Kids.

According to Feeding America, 268,070 West Virginians are struggling with food insecurity with 76,970 being children. The Food SHACK hopes to combat those numbers with free meals to kids. No questions asked.

The Underprivileged Children Foundation seeks to enhance and advance the lives of West Virginia children and families in need.

They are a 501 c 3 not for profit organization established in 2016.

Invited to speak at the Press Ceremony is Kanawha County Commissioner, Ben Salango and Charleston Mayor, Amy Goodwin.
