From the United Way of Central West Virginia
Please join us Tuesday, May 5, 2020 as we reach across the state of West Virginia to collectively support our local food pantries and relief efforts. The goal of the Country Roads Food Drive is to fill shelves to feed families across the Mountain State during the coronavirus pandemic.
Locally, the all-day food drive will be held as a drive through drop at the United Way of Central WV located at 1 United Square, Court Street across from WV American Water. Both nonperishable items and financial contributions may be dropped off. Unexpired items such as canned vegetables, canned fruit, peanut butter, spaghetti, pasta sauce, canned meat and other household staples have been requested by our partners. Cleaning products and personal hygiene items are also welcomed. All volunteers will be practicing safe distancing, wearing masks and gloves to retrieve contributions from vehicles. Donations collected at United Way of Central WV will be distributed to food pantries located in Kanawha, Putnam, Boone, Logan and Clay Counties.
Pickering Associates will match monetary donations up to $10,000!
Participating United Ways across the State include: United Way of Monongalia and Preston Counties, United Way of Harrison County, United Way of Marion and Taylor Counties, United Way of Central West Virginia, United Way of the River Cities, United Way Alliance of Mid-Ohio Valley, United Way of Gilmer, Lewis and Upshur, United Way of Randolph County, United Way of Upper Ohio Valley, County United Way, and the United Way of the Eastern Panhandle.
