Streetfest downtown
Are you a dog owner? Dog lover? If so, Downtown Streetfest this Saturday, August 18, isn’t to be missed. Bring your dog and check out several fun contests and activities.
Saturday, August 18 from 5:00-9:00 pm
Capitol Street (between Quarrier & Lee)
Schedule of Events
5:00 p.m. Music begins with The Carpenter Ants and registration opens for Dog Races and Stupid Dog Tricks
5:30 p.m. Best Dog Costume Contest
5:30-6:30 p.m. Visit with Flyaway Greg – Yeager Airport’s Dog
6:00 p.m. Dog Races (registration required) for small, medium and large dogs
6:30 p.m. Stupid Dog Tricks (registration required)
7:00 p.m. Owner & Pet Lookalike Contest
7:30 p.m. Largest and Smallest Dog Contest
8:00 p.m. Ugliest Dog Contest
Awards will be given to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in contests and dog races.
The Kanawha-Charleston Humane Association Truck, Fix ‘Em Van, and Boone Animal Rescue Coalition (BARC) will be on hand, along with local veterinarians from Valley West Veterinary Hospital and Avalon Veterinary Hospital. Streetfest will also feature dog pools for wading, and attendees can have a drawing done of their dog by a local artist.
