Calvary Baptist Church to Host 4th Annual Freedom Celebration Concert

On Saturday, June 23, 2018, from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., the 4th Annual Freedom Celebration concert, a Charleston FestivALL event, will be presented.  A combined community chorus and orchestra will present a patriotic concert conducted by Barry Skeenes.
The program presents various musical pieces commemorating our country’s independence and other struggles for freedom. Last year’s concert included singers from 11 churches and 4 other organizations. The orchestra consisted of instrumentalists from the region and from the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra.

 Battle Hymn of the Republic, Peter J. Wilhousky

 The Nation’s Prayer (Panis Angelicus), César Franck
 We Will Stand as Strong, Tall Towers, tribute to 9/11

CORE (the Center for Organ Recovery & Education), and Edgewood Summit Housing will have representatives on hand to provide information regarding their organizations.

The concert is free to the public and tickets are not required.
Calvary Baptist Church is located at the corner of Lee Street W and Maryland Avenue directly behind the Kroger’s store.
