Letter from Donna McCullough, Chief Development Officer for Alzheimer’s Association.
I’m pleased to announce that Vicky Patel has generously agreed to donate an extraordinary $1 million to the Alzheimer’s Association if we can raise that same amount by December 31. Vicky is heartbroken by the devastating impact Alzheimer’s had on her father and is committed to changing the trajectory of this cruel disease. Her gift will go toward the Association’s research efforts in U.S. POINTER, a lifestyle intervention trial to support brain health and prevent cognitive decline.
That means every gift we receive from now until December 31 can be matched — up to $1 million — doubling your impact to help provide care and support and advance research:
- $35 can become $70 to improve care for people living with Alzheimer’s and provide help to caregivers through information resources, support, education tools and advocacy.
- $60 can become $120 to offer support for caregivers and families through care consultations, support groups, respite funding and more.
- $120 can become $240 to accelerate research toward treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure.
I am grateful for your past support of the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s®, and I hope you’ll support our efforts again by giving to this special match opportunity. Any amount you give today, up to a total of $1 million, can be matched to further our mission to eliminate Alzheimer’s disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.
We hope we can count on you to rejoin the fight against Alzheimer’s and make a gift today? Please give as generously as you can.
Sincerely,
Donna McCullough
Chief Development Officer
